be presenting a five day collage workshop in a beautiful rural setting between
Calgary and Banff. During this workshop we will create an intentional artistic
community in which we will all learn from one another. As we explore composition
and refine our personal visual vocabularies we will reflect on past successes
and failures, revise our individual goals, and make concrete and specific

their evolution more clearly. From the drafting of a group mission statement
to the collecting of works for a final critique, this five-day intensive
will be filled with challenging activities designed to increase our technical

MEDIUM AND METAPHOR /
The State University of New York at New Paltz: The
Student Art Alliance at SUNY New Paltz has invited me to present an interactive
lecture-demonstration at 7:30 PM on September 14th, 2005. During this FREE
program I will, with the help of the audience, explore the implications
of collage as a medium. I will also demonstrate collage without liquid adhesives.
This 1 and 1/2 hour program is open to the public as well as SUNY students
and faculty. It will be held in the Lecture Center adjacent to the Library. |

Finally, a fall workshop in the midst of New England. Deb DeCicco, Director
of the School of Arts and Crafts at the Sharon Arts Center near Peterborough,
New Hampshire, has invited me to enjoy the beginning of Indian Summer and
lead a workshop as well. During this workshop we will explore composition
and the creation of a personal visual vocabulary and enjoy new opportunities
for spontaniety as we eliminate liquid adhesives from the collage-assembly
process. Other subjects to be covered include "Getting Started," Accessing
our Creative Energies, "Paperless" Transfer of Printed and Photocopied Images,
Preserving Found Materials, Preparation of Substrates, Sources of Tools
