/ COLLAGE: MEDIUM AND METAPHOR /
The University of South Carolina-Sumter: At
7 PM on March 4th, 2004, the evening before the opening
of a solo exhibition of my works at
USC Sumter, I will present an interactive lecture-demonstration . During
this FREE program I will demonstrate collage without liquid adhesives
and, with the help of the audience, explore the implications of collage
as a medium. This 1 and 1/2 hour program is open to the public as well
as USC students and faculty. In the banquet room at USC Sumter (Arts and

COLLAGE TECHNIQUES & CREATIVE EXPLORATION
/ 4-DAY INTENSIVE The Art League School:
From
the identification of personal goals to the review of works for a final
critique, this four-day intensive will be filled with challenging activities
designed to increase our technical knowledge, broaden the scope of our
vision, and empower our creative inspiration as we produce exciting
new works. ///// During this workshop we
will create an intentional artistic community in which we will all learn
from one another. As we explore composition and refine our personal
visual vocabularies we will reflect on past successes and make plans

5-DAY COLLAGE INTENSIVE: THE CUTTING
EDGE / New Approaches, Techniques, and Implications / At
the invitation of Mary Alice Braukman, Director of Kanuga Watercolor
Workshops, I will be presenting my longest east-coast workshop ever
at the Kanuga Conference Center in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains
of North Carolina. During this workshop we will create an intentional
artistic community in which we will all learn from one another. As we
explore composition and refine our personal visual vocabularies we will
reflect on past successes and failures, revise our individual goals,
and make concrete and specific plans for future projects. /////
Together we will discover new perspectives which will allow us to see
our works and their evolution more clearly. From the drafting of a group
mission statement to the collecting of works for a final critique, this
five-day intensive will be filled with challenging activities designed
to increase our technical knowledge, broaden the scope of our vision,
and empower our creative inspiration as we produce exciting new works.
By examining our responses to a variety of mediums we will find new
insights into our individual creative efforts. /////

COLLAGE: MEDIUM AND METAPHOR / The Poughkeepsie Art Museum.
In connection with The Imaginary Voyage, an international
collage exhibition of works by six artists from around the world to be
held at thbe Poughkeepsie Art Museum, I will moderate a roundtable discussion
focusing on collage and its implications. Six panelists will address a
variety of issues and answer questions posed by the audience as well.
This FREE program will last from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM and will take place
at The Poughkeepsie Art Museum, 214 Main Street, in Poughkeepsie, NY.
